About the Department

The modern civilization has taken great strides in providing materialistic comforts to the human being. As a result, our society especially women population is suffering from many gynaecological disorders due to stress, bad lifestyle (sedentary habits and poor eating practices) and indiscriminate use of hormonal pills. Consequently, there is alarming rise in the gynaecological problems like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), Infertility, Menopausal syndrome and co-morbidities such as Thyroid dysfunction (Hyper and Hypothyroidism), Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus etc. adversely affecting the fertility and reproductive health of women.

Clinical Activities in the Department of OBG:

  • Our Department of Gynaecology offers comprehensive services for the reproductive health and gynaecological needs of women. Innumerable patients suffering from various gynaecological problems especially PCOS, infertility and thyroid dysfunction are getting benefitted through our constitutional treatment along with counselling regarding diet and regimen.
  • Our Department of Obstetrics extends its valuable services in Homoeopathic management of ante-natal cases for easy delivery and healthy off-springs by curbing the influence of hereditary diseases. Cases of recurrent miscarriages, Hyperemesis gravidarum, oligo and polyhydramnios, foetal growth retardation and post-natal problems such as retained placenta, puerperal fevers and lactation troubles are also efficiently treated.
  • Our OBG unit runs regular OPD with experienced physicians and post graduatescholars.
  • In-Patient facility is also available in our unit for the management of acute as well as chronic cases.
  • Clinical teaching of post graduates and undergraduates is done at bedside.
  • For enhanced clinical exposure in obstetric and gynaecological cases, peripheral postings are allotted to students at Gandhi Hospital.
  • Our OBG unit is provided with a labour room.
  • Our hospital has Ultrasound facility along with routine investigations.
  • Many women are opting our OBG services because of successful results in the treatment of gynaecological problems day by day.

Academic Activities in the Department of OBG:

  • The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology offers quality education through illustrative teaching using specimens, charts and models along with audio-visual aids in spacious and well-equipped classrooms with LCD projector and mike system.
  • Symposiums and seminars; periodic tests and preliminary examinations are conducted to improve the learning standards of our students.
  • Our department has vast library comprising many standard textbooks with latest editions, reference books, journals and periodicals.
